ITINERARY
After meeting at your hotel, you will depart with our Misrona Tours guide to the south of Cairo, taking in the stunning landscapes of the Faiyum oasis, located 110 kilometers from the city. It's not a mirage; everything is real.
Wadi el Rayan: This area is situated in the southwestern part of the Faiyum province and consists of the Upper Lake, Lower Lake, and the waterfall connecting the two. Wadi el Rayan features a diverse desert environment, including sand dunes, natural springs, various plant species, wildlife, and marine fossils. The waterfall area is also popular for various water sports, and the reserve is home to wildlife such as white gazelles, Egyptian gazelles, fennec foxes, and various types of falcons.
Wadi el Hitan: Next, we will travel 40 kilometers into the desert to Wadi el Hitan, the Valley of Whales. This site contains priceless fossil remains of the archaeocetes, the oldest known whales. These fossils illustrate a key evolutionary story: the transition of whales from land animals to marine mammals. It is the world's most important site for showcasing this stage of evolution.
Magic Lake: We will then return to the Magic Lake, one of Egypt's most beautiful lakes, set against the sand dunes of Wadi el Hitan. Here, you will have the chance to witness one of the most breathtaking sunsets you've ever seen. The lake is renowned for its changing colors throughout the day, influenced by the season and sunlight.
Gabal El-Medawara: We will also visit Gabal El-Medawara, a round hill in Faiyum that overlooks the lake and is popular for sandboarding. It’s a perfect spot to relax, contemplate life, and enjoy an adventurous experience in the desert.
Lunch: On the way back, we will stop for lunch along the shores of Lake Qarun, where you can appreciate the rich local fauna, particularly the diverse bird species.
Return: Finally, we will return to your hotels in Cairo.
