Cruise on Lake Nasser from Abu Simbel
(3 nights / 4 days)
ITINERARY
Day 1: Temples of Abu Simbel
Transfer at the scheduled time from Aswan to Abu Simbel, located 280 km south of Aswan. Upon arrival, check in to your cabin on the Lake cruise, with full board starting from lunch on board. In the afternoon, visit the impressive Temples of Abu Simbel: The Great Temple dedicated to King Ramses II and the Small Temple for his wife, Queen Nefertari. After the visit, return to the cruise for afternoon tea.
Enjoy free time for the optional sound and light show at the Abu Simbel temples after sunset, then return to the boat for dinner. Overnight in Abu Simbel.
Day 2: The Amada Site
Set sail towards the ruins of Kasr Ibrim, the only archaeological site visible along the cruise in its original location, dating from the late and Greco-Roman periods. These ruins, situated at a higher elevation than the lake's water level, did not require relocation. Enjoy a brief photo stop (15 minutes) from the terrace, accompanied by a courtesy juice. Continue sailing towards the next destination, arriving in time for lunch.
Visit the Amada complex, located 100 km north of Abu Simbel, which features three monuments: the Temple of Amada (the oldest, dating back to the time of Tuthmosis III and moved intact 2,600 meters from its original site), the Temple of Derr (from the time of Ramses II), and the Tomb of Pennut from the Ramesside period. After the visit, continue navigation to Wadi El Seboe. Enjoy dinner and spend the night near Wadi El Seboe.
Day 3: The Wadi El Seboe Site
After breakfast, depart to visit the Wadi El Seboe enclosure, located 140 km north of Abu Simbel—approximately halfway through the cruise. This site includes three monuments: the Wadi El Seboe temples (known as the Valley of the Lions) from the time of Ramses II, the Temple of Dakka from the Ptolemaic period, and the Moharraq Temple from the Roman period. After concluding the visits, return to the boat for lunch.
Continue sailing towards Aswan, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night near the High Dam.
Day 4: The Kalabsha Compound
After breakfast, depart to visit the Kalabsha enclosure next to the High Dam. This site features four monuments: the Kalabsha temples from the Greco-Roman era, the Gueref Hussein temple, and the Beit El Waly temple from the time of Ramses II. After completing the visit, return to check out of the ship.
Depending on your reservation time, transfer to the airport, train station, or any other location in Aswan.
