The temples of Kalabsha, Beit el-Waly, and Quertassi are located at the first site designated to receive temples saved from Nubian land following the construction of the High Dam and the formation of Lake Nasser. UNESCO was tasked with preserving 18 monuments in Lower Nubia. This excursion allows you to visit these monuments and see where Lake Nasser and the High Dam begin.

ITINERARY

Kalabsha Temples: Begin with a visit to the complex of temples: Quertassi, Beit el-Waly, and the Temple of Kalabsha, which has been dismantled and re-erected on a hill near the High Dam. Originally located 28 miles south of Aswan, this temple was restored during the Roman conquest.

The High Dam: Conclude the tour with a visit to the High Dam, an engineering marvel completed in the 1960s that protects Egypt from annual floods caused by the Nile.

After the tour, we will return to your hotel, marking the end of our service.
