Exploring the Depths of Christian Culture in Egypt

The Christian culture in Egypt has deep roots, as Jesus and his mother, the Virgin Mary, found refuge here to escape the Romans. They spent three and a half years in Egypt, leaving behind a rich legacy of Christian heritage. This excursion allows us to explore some of these historical sites.

ITINERARY

The Coptic Quarter: In the early morning, meet your Misrona Tours guide at the hotel for a tour focused on Coptic art in Cairo. We begin our journey in the Coptic Quarter, home to some of the oldest Christian monuments in Egypt. We will visit the church known as Al-Moallaqa, or the Suspended Church, built atop one of the towers of the Babylonian fortress. Next, we will explore the Church of San Sergio, known as the Church of the Cave, where the Holy Family took refuge during their flight to Egypt for three months. Our visit will also include the Church of San Jorge.

The Coptic Art Museum: Following our church visits, we will enjoy a guided tour of the Coptic Art Museum, which houses unique pieces of Coptic art in Egypt.

Lunch: Next, we will head to a local restaurant in Cairo for lunch.

Holy Family Tree: After lunch, we will continue to the renowned site of the Holy Family Tree, where Saint Joseph, the Virgin Mary, and Jesus rested in its shade.

Finally, we will return to the hotel.

• Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive an email with your booking voucher. Please print it or download it to your mobile phone or tablet to show to the Misrona Tours representative on the day of the activity.
• The details will include tour operator contact numbers, traveler service and travel information.

• Prices are per person in US dollars depending on the number of people.
• A deposit of 50 % of the total price is required to complete reservations.
• The remaining amount is payable in cash before the tour begins.

• Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the tour starts.
• If you cancel under this time or do not show up, you will not be refunded.
