Full-day tour: DENDERA AND ABYDOS TEMPLES

The Temple of Abydos is one of the best-preserved temples from the era of the glorious pharaohs, including Seti I, Ramses II, and Merneptah. The significant Dendera Temple, dating from the time of the Ptolemies and Cleopatra, is also exceptionally well preserved and features a terrace that can be visited.

ITINERARY

Join us for a full-day tour to explore two of the most complete temples in Egypt. The Abydos Temple and the Hathor Temple at Dendera are renowned for their remarkable preservation, with vibrant colors still visible on their walls. Our Mirsona Tours guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor to discover these ancient sites.

Abydos Temple: Our first stop is Abydos, where ancient Egyptians believed the god Osiris was buried. The temple was built by King Seti I and completed by Ramses II, known as the Temple of Seti I. Located about 140 km from Luxor, the paintings of gods and pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple at Abydos are among the most beautifully preserved in Egypt. Be sure to ask about the helicopter, tank, and plane depicted in the artwork.

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Abydos.

Dendera Temple: Afterward, we will proceed to Dendera to visit the Temple of Hathor, the goddess of love and joy. This temple, located 70 km north of Luxor, features hypostyle halls that are unparalleled compared to other temples in the country.

Return: Finally, we will leave Dendera and return to Luxor, which is located 70 kilometers south of Qena and serves as our departure point for the morning.
