FAIYUM (El Fayyum) is an immense oasis in the desert of Egypt, which extends below sea level within a huge depression of the Libyan desert and comprises an almost circular oasis. It is located about thirty kilometers west of the Nile. With the current excursion we can visit very interesting places in this oasis. We can also visit the Meidum enclosure on the way, very famous for the pyramid of Honi; Senefru's father with lunch included.
ITINERARY
Early in the morning, our guide will pick you up at your hotel to start the trip to the city of Faiyum (110 km) south of Cairo to see the impressive and fertile landscapes of the Faiyum oasis. The first visit is to the archaeological zone of Meidum and where the pyramid of Pharaoh Honi of the third dynasty is located, you can visit it from the inside.
Then we continue to the pyramid of Hawara, built of mud bricks, dating from the Middle Kingdom.
Then follow the road to a date temple that gives the Roman era, known as Qasr Qarun passing through Lake Qarun, one of the most important areas of the oasis. Its saline waters are below sea level.
On the way back along the same road, we enjoyed a lunch on the shores of Lake Qarun. In this place we can appreciate the rich local fauna, characterized especially by the great diversity of birds and birds... In the afternoon, we return back to the hotels in Cairo.

Confirmation of booking and receipt:
- Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive an email containing your reservation voucher.
- Please print or download it to your smartphone/tablet to show to a representative of the travel agency (Misrona Tours) on the day of the activity.
- Details will include tour operator contact numbers, customer service and additional information for your convenience.
- Prices are quoted in US dollars per person but you can pay in Euro, Egyptian Pound or Sterling.
