Two-day excursion to Minya and the land of Nefertiti

Minya (Al Minya) is one of the provinces of Upper Egypt, located 170 kilometers south of Cairo. Its capital, Minya, sits on the western bank of the Nile River, approximately 245 km south of the capital. The name Minya is derived from its ancient Egyptian name, Menat-Khufu, meaning "Nurse of Khufu" (Cheops). With a population of over 3 million, Minya is often associated with the famous royal couple, Akhenaton and Nefertiti. This excursion allows you to explore this beautiful city, known as "the Bride of Upper Egypt," over two days, including one night in a hotel in Minya.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Cairo to Minya / Tuna El Gabal 

In the morning, you will be picked up by your private guide and driver from Misrona Tours at your hotel in Cairo or Giza for the journey to Minya, which takes about 4 hours. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel in Minya and start your visit to significant sites, including the great plain where Akhenaton received his divine inspiration to build his city. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Minya, after which you'll proceed to the famous Tuna El Gabal site to see the tomb of Petosiris, the Ibis catacombs, and the tomb of Isadora (dating back to the 2nd century AD). Dinner will be provided during the tour, followed by an overnight stay in Minya.

Day 2: Beni Hassan - Tel El Amarna / Drive Back to Cairo 

After breakfast in the morning, your tour guide will escort you to Beni Hassan, where you can explore the tomb of Bakhet III (Governor of the Oryx Nome), the tomb of Khnumhotep (a governor under Amenemhat III in the 12th dynasty), and the tomb of Khety (belonging to a governor in the 11th dynasty). Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before proceeding to Tel El Amarna, where you can visit the northern tombs, including the tombs of Ahmose and Huya. Later, you will drive back to your hotel in Cairo.

• Please book as early as possible to ensure availability, especially on holidays and celebrations such as Christmas, New Year and Easter.
• In order to contact you we need your mobile number, email and fill out the form on the current page, indicating the start date of the trip and the end date of the trip. Please determine the number of adults and children.
• You can book 2 weeks in advance if there are still places available.
• Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive an email with your booking voucher. Please print it or download it to your mobile phone or tablet to show to the Misrona Tours representative on the day of the activity.
• The details will include tour operator contact numbers, traveler service and travel information.

• The package price is set in US dollars, but you can pay in Euros, Egyptian Pounds or British Pounds. You can also pay with different credit cards: Visa, MasterCard...etc.
• Payment of 35% of the total amount is required to secure your seats on the tour, including hotel room, cruise cabin, local plane or train tickets and other travel-related services.
• The remaining balance can be paid up to one week before the arrival date or in cash upon arrival at the destination to the Misrona Tours representative.
• Once the tour is confirmed, we guarantee that the price will not change.

In case of cancellation of your trip after making some/all reservations, the following table of charges will apply: -

• Up to one week before the arrival date, 35% of the total price of the tour will be charged.
• Less than one week up to 48 hours before the arrival date, 50% of the total value of the tour is charged.
• Any cancellation after this time or no-show on the day of booking will not be refunded.
