Tanoura Dance Show

The Tanoura dance, also known as the Dervishes dance, has Turkish origins and is called Mawlawi. In Egypt, it tells the poignant story of a man who has lost everything, symbolized by the layers of his skirt being removed. This mesmerizing performance is celebrated at El Ghoury Palace and is highly recommended.

ITINERARY

A representative from Misrona Tours will pick you up from your hotel based on your stay.

Wekalet el Ghory: Our first stop will be Wekalet el Ghory, where the show takes place. This complex dates back to the Mamluk era and was established in 1504 AD. The performance is known as the Tanoura Dance, or the Whirling Dervishes Dance.

The Show: We will begin with a concert of Egyptian folk music performed by local musicians. Then, the highlight of the evening—the Whirling Dervishes Dance—will commence.

Dinner: After the show, we will proceed to a local restaurant to enjoy dinner (drinks not included).

Finally, we will return to your hotel or wherever you are staying.

IMPORTANT NOTES: -

• Entrance to the Sultan Al-Ghory complex at 18:15 and the show starts at 19:30.
• This excursion can only be done on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays of each week.
• However, it will be enough to have the voucher or reservation on your mobile phone and not print it.
• Please book as early as possible to ensure availability, especially on holidays and celebrations such as Christmas, New Year and Easter.
• In order to contact you we need your mobile number, email and fill out the form on the current page, indicating the start date of the trip and the end date of the trip. Please determine the number of adults and children.
• You can book 2 weeks in advance if there are still places available.
• Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive an email with your booking voucher. Please print it or download it to your mobile phone or tablet to show to the Misrona Tours representative on the day of the activity.
• The details will include tour operator contact numbers, traveler service and travel information.

• Prices are per person in US dollars depending on the number of people.
• A deposit of 50 % of the total price is required to complete reservations.
• The remaining amount is payable in cash before the tour begins.

• Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the tour starts.
• If you cancel under this time or do not show up, you will not be refunded.
