Full-Day tour: Dahshour, Sakkara and Pyramids of Giza (8 hours).

This comprehensive tour includes lunch and offers an opportunity to discover three monumental sites while learning about Egypt's fascinating history from the Old Kingdom.

ITINERARY

Dahshour: After breakfast, your Misrona tour guide will pick you up from your hotel to begin the journey to the Dahshour desert. You will visit the Dahshour enclosure and explore its two pyramids: the Rhomboid Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, both dating back to the reign of King Sneferu, the father of King Khufu. These are the last pyramids constructed in Egypt before the iconic Pyramid of Khufu. The Rhomboid Pyramid is the older of the two and retains a significant portion of its limestone casing, which historically protected it. South of this pyramid lies a smaller pyramid dedicated to Sneferu’s wife, Hetep-Heres, the mother of Khufu. The other pyramid, known as the Red Pyramid due to the iron oxide in its stone, is also noteworthy. Please be aware that the enclosure has a significant military presence, so photography with strong zoom is not allowed for security reasons. You can enter the chambers of both pyramids, which are quite extensive and deep.

Sakkara: Next, continue your tour to Sakkara, where you will visit the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the oldest colossal stone structure in Egypt, built around 2630 BC. Explore one of the several tombs of nobles known as mastabas, which feature well-preserved colors and fascinating depictions of daily life in ancient Egypt. You can also enjoy a panoramic view of the expansive pyramid field in the western Egyptian desert.

Lunch: Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant.

Giza Pyramids: Afterward, head to the famous Pyramids of Giza, including those of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. You will also see the Great Sphinx, a limestone statue featuring the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion. Explore the Valley Temple, which is part of the funerary complex that includes a mortuary temple and the Pyramid of Khafre. After completing your exploration of these iconic landmarks, you will gain deeper insights into the rich history of Egypt.

Shopping: You will have the opportunity to shop at popular stores for authentic Egyptian products, such as papyrus and various souvenirs.

At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel.

Optional Evening Activity: In the evening, you can choose to attend the Great Pyramids Sound & Light Show.
