A Franco-Swiss archaeological mission has discovered a 4,300-year-old mud-brick mastaba tomb belonging to a nobleman named Teti Neb Fu, a royal physician from the reign of Pharaoh Pepi II, at the Saqqara archaeological site south of Cairo.

The mastaba contains intact inscriptions and drawings on its walls, revealing new aspects of the culture of daily life in the Old Kingdom, including cultural and medical aspects.
Despite evidence of ancient looting, the tomb walls remain intact, offering a rare insight into daily life and cultural practices during Egypt's Old Kingdom.
