Argul or (Ergol) is an ancient musical instrument that was used by ancient Egyptians since the time of the pharaohs and is still commonly used in Egypt and the Levant, and its shape varies in different regions. This instrument is a wind instrument, that is, it is played by blowing it to produce a beautiful sound. This machine is made from the stem of the cane. The argul mainly consists of two reeds connected side by side. The right reed is pierced with six holes for the melody with a specific pitch, and the other reed for the continuity and tuning of the melody. Each of the two reeds has a hole for sound production.
Argul is one of the most famous musical instruments in Palestinian society. It has melodies suitable for folk singing, and its use requires the ability of the performer to continue blowing for a long time without interruption.
