Full-day to Alexandria with lunch

Alexandria is a vibrant city, and during our excursion, you can explore it in just 10 hours. You'll visit the Catacombs, Pompey's Pillar, the Qaitbay Fortress, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and enjoy Egyptian cuisine at a restaurant by the Mediterranean.

ITINERARY

After breakfast, a Misrona Tours guide will pick you up at your hotel to begin your journey to Alexandria, the most significant Mediterranean city in Egypt.

Kom el Shoqafa: We'll start our tour at the Kom el Shoqafa Catacombs, where the intricate relief artwork showcases the fusion of Egyptian and Greco-Roman culture. You'll explore its three levels, discovering the passages, tunnels, and galleries that house the tombs of the necropolis.

Pompey's Pillar: Our second stop will be Pompey's Pillar, the site of a former temple dedicated to the Greco-Egyptian god Serapis.

Roman Amphitheater: Next, we'll visit the only Roman amphitheater still standing in Egypt.

Qaitbay Fortress: We will then head to Alexandria's port to visit the Qaitbay Fortress. This defensive complex was built in the 15th century by Sultan Qaitbay, where the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria once stood. The lighthouse was destroyed by several earthquakes, and its remains were used in the construction of the citadel.

Lunch: Afterward, we'll enjoy lunch in the center of Alexandria, featuring a menu that includes fish and seafood rice.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina: In the evening, we'll visit one of the most significant modern buildings in the city: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina. This library pays homage to the original library established in the 3rd century BC. Inaugurated in 2002, it is now one of the most important cultural spaces in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Finally, we will return to Cairo.

• Prices are per person in US dollars depending on the number of people.
• A deposit of 50 % of the total price is required to complete reservations.
• The remaining amount is payable in cash before the tour begins.

• Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the tour starts.
• If you cancel under this time or do not show up, you will not be refunded.
